To Shop Or Not To Shop...That Is The Question.

http://www.silverseek.com/article/gold-silver-money-has-devolved-debt-and-plastic-14683
"The gold and silver certificates disappeared and Federal Reserve Notes replaced them. The Federal Reserve Notes looked similar to gold and silver certificates, but sadly, they were nothing more than a piece of paper that represented a loan from (hence the word “note”) or obligation of the United States, issued by the Federal Reserve.
These Federal Reserve Notes passed as money because the government decreed they were legal tender, and they were backed by “the full faith and credit” (confidence) of the U.S. government. Unfortunately the notes are not money, have no intrinsic value, and are not backed by assets. They are loans to the U.S. government backed by the debts of the United States and the future taxing power of the government."

Happy Shopping!!

Remaining Joyful In A World Filled With Things That Can Easily Depress You

by Abeni Bamidele

Let's face it. This world is in a heap...I said a heap of trouble. There are obstacles all around us which could very easily place us in deep depressive states if we allow them to. Many people cope with the challenges they face in a variety of ways. I've seen folks submit to their depression ranging from behaviors of alcoholism, shopping addictions, sex addictions, suicidal thoughts, and yes even suicide itself. Sound morbid? It is.

I've also encountered those who smooth over their depression, by becoming obnoxiously fanatical in varied interests anywhere from excessive partying, overly dressing wearing mounds of make-up, chattering non-stop with people with superficial discussions to camouflage emotion and additionally those who make grandiose purchases of things that can not be afforded, just to name a few. But wait! There's more... This sounds odd but over-achieving or overly-educating one's self to the extent that nothing nor anyone else matters and a well known behavior exercised by many... becoming holy, sanctified, fanatical and literally "lost in the blood of..." Well you can finish that sentence.

The point is, camouflaging hurt, pain, anguish or down-right challenging situations are only momentary fixes. While there is no disputing, that we are all in the best and worst of times, we absolutely must preserve all that is good in this world. In other words...focus on what is good. I know...that seems easier said than done, yet it is possible. It all begins with the mind.

I'll name a few things that can be done, yet what I will mention surely won't be the final compilation of resolution to remain joyful, yet it's a start.

1. Meditation/Reflection/Prayer

Start from within, recognizing that there absolutely is a higher power. This higher power lives within us all. Tap into the strength within you that will propel you to keep going, no matter how challenging the fight...your mind and thoughts will be your guide in remaining steadfast and strong. Banish any negative thinking immediately by thinking of something that you like or enjoy, and breathe............

2. Find A Quiet Place Of Beauty

This would be a place or space that is pleasant to your eyes and ears. Even if it is a small space where an alter is placed, lit candles, a photo off your favorite place or person. The idea is to take moments in time to look at something that gives you rest.

3. Live In The Moment

You have heard that tomorrow isn't promised, I'm sure. And that is just the truth. Since that is the case, minimize spending precious moments of the here and now in capturing what has happened in the past. While planning for the future is both important and necessary to an extent, take time to smell the roses within each day. I don't care if this sounds cliche' or corny...just do it. It works. Even when a day seems to have gone wrong, find one bright spot within the day that aids in you pushing forward.

4.  Give Thanks

Be thankful for what you do have and change those things that make you dissatisfied, one step at a time. Small achievements can result in strength of the mind and overall being.

5. Turn Off Those Things That Make You Dumb

The television; particularly the news can depress you. Social media can depress you. The radio can depress you. These platforms and more program the mind to think in ways that erupt negative thought and emotion, with an added encouragement to take drugs to serve as a quick fix, after having saturated the brain with things which can serve to influence your thinking. Don't engage in it if it changes your pattern of thinking and make you feel angry, sad or anxiety ridden.

6. Eat Well, Remain Active.

Healthy well balanced meals and exercise will get those endorphins working, which are some of the brain's chemicals serving as neurotransmitters which transmit electrical signals to the nervous system and fights stress. You will become even more motivated to remain positive.

7. Help Someone.

Contrary to popular belief, we were not placed on this Earth to simply be receivers of good fortune and great situations. There will always be elements of pain, sorrow...sadness. This energy should be utilized to strengthen us to reach new levels of existence. One brilliant way in doing so, is to help someone. Within the constructs of our own sadness and of what we see in the world that makes us overwhelmed underlies an opportunity to make change. There is always someone in a less fortunate situation than our own. Wouldn't it be wonderful, if we took that negative energy...turned it around and helped others?

Bottom Line: Selfishness has no place in the heat of a depressive state. While it is difficult to do for many, I challenge you to focus on someone else, by taking part in their life in a positive way, and in turn, this will change your own circumstances and thought patterns.

Heal Thyself With Grapefruit Seed Extract

Heal Thyself With Grapefruit Seed Extract

One can very easily call the grapefruit a power fruit as it is rich in fiber, potassium, lycopene, vitamin C and choline. This means that the grapefruit can lower blood pressure, promote healthy skin and help lower the risk of  a variety of diseases. Grapefruits decrease the risk of obesity, heart disease and diabetes. But wait...there's more!

Even more miraculous phenomenons occur with the usage and intake of grapefruit seed extract.
Grapefruit seed extract (GSE)  is a liquid oil based substance extracted from the seeds, pulp and white membrane of the grapefruit. When used on a consistent basis, with only a few drops within 8 oz. glasses of water, one can potentially experience more positive response within in the body when battling varied health conditions.

The seed and pulp of the grapefruit are used to make GSE, and is bitter to the taste. Vegetable glycerin is added to help make the taste more tolerable. Not only is GSE found in liquid form, there are capsules or tablets available for those who find the liquid taste too bitter.

18 Benefits Of Grapefruit Seed Extract

According to an article written on "Applied Health",  Dr. Allan Sachs provides the numerous ailments that can be helped with the utilization of GSE.
  • Acne - Add a concentration of 1% to 3% to skin care products. Avoid contact with eyes. After cleansing the face, apply 2 to 3 drops of GSE to moistened fingertips, and massage gently in circular motions for one minute. Rinse with cool water. The bacteria-killing properties and cleansing action may cause a tingling sensation. For internal cleansing, add 10 – 15 drops of GSE to juice, three times a day.
  • AIDS - An increasing number of HIV positive people are able to improve their immune system by using GSE to fight viruses, bacteria, fungi, Candida, or parasites. For these patients, however, it may be best to start with a more diluted concentration, so the body can adjust more easily to the detoxification process. Be sure to check with your health care provider.
  • Athlete’s foot – The commercially prepared foot powders, creams, and sprays that contain GSE have been shown to be beneficial for athlete’s foot.
  • Colds, flus, viruses – Take 10 – 15 drops, or 1 – 2 capsules/tablets, 3 times a day, at the first signs of cold or flu. Or mix 50 drops in 1 quart of juice, and sip throughout the day.
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – To generally build up immune system, gradually increase GSE amount to the recommended dosage for colds, flus, and viruses.
  • Cold sores, cuts, wounds – Use 1 – 5 drops in 50 drops of water. Frequent application of solution to wound will promote faster healing.
  • Gums (Gingivitis) – Dilute 5 to 10 drops of GSE in 6 to 8 ounces of water, and rinse mouth with solution thoroughly.
  • Dandruff - Add a few drops of GSE to each application of shampoo. Wait five minutes before rinsing. DO NOT get in eyes. Remember, GSE is acidic.
  • Diarrhea - Use 15 to 20 drops in juice every four hours; no more than 60 drops per day. For parasites, higher doses may be necessary.
  • Earaches - There are commercially prepared eardrops, which can be found at the health food store, containing GSE. Do not use GSE concentrate directly in ears.
  • Parasites - Parasites affect the majority of people. They become more of a health problem as travel and contamination of food, and water, increase. Stay disciplined, with 3 to 5 doses per day. Parasite infections that have occurred for a long period of time will take more time to cure. Be patient.
  • Sinusitis - Using a spray atomizer, add a pinch of salt, and no more than two drops of GSE. Shake and spray into nose. Repeat every four hours. If the solution is too mild, add one or two more drops of GSE and shake. Do not use this treatment with young children.
  • Sore throats – Dilute a few drops in water and use as a gargle. This will fight even Strep germs. Use approximately 2 to 3 drops in 5 ounces of water for the gargle.
  • Traveler’s Diarrhea (Montezuma’s Revenge) - Use 1 – 2 drops of GSE in a glass of water each day as a preventative.
  • Ulcers - Use 1 capsule dissolved in 12 ounces of juice or water, and take with one meal per day. If no stomach irritation occurs, increase dose to two, and then three meals per day. Maximum dose can be increased to 6 tablets (dissolved in liquid) per day.
  • Water purification – Add 10 to 25 drops of GSE, per gallon of water. Shake and let stand for several minutes. The water will have a bitter taste to it, due to the GSE.
  • Cleansing produce – Add a few drops to the water used for washing produce. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. This will help destroy any Salmonella or E.Coli bacteria.

Even Pets Use GSE

Pets - GSE is an excellent remedy for skin disease, external injuries, fungal infections, parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Also, helps bad breath when added to drinking water.Use 1 drop of liquid, or 10 milligrams of powder, per 10 pounds of body weight. Frequency of dosage can be increased by 2 or 3 times, without side effects.

GSE is a particular item that I keep on hand; especially in the changes of the seasons, when people get sick the most. It has helped to build my immune system, so that my body resists the sickness of others. You know...when folks start coughing and hacking without covering their mouths... Don't ya just hate when that happens?

Stay healthy my friends!

You Need Music In Your Life: Throw Back (Music) From The Past, Mica Paris

MICA PARIS

Far from a throw-back herself, phenomenal British-born singer Mica Paris is still going strong with her silky smooth vocals, although I had not been following her over the years. I believe she has not received her just rewards of acknowledgement, although I'm sure it has much to do with active promotional works on her behalf. Her works became familiar to me back in 1988 when she released debut album "So Good" at the age of 19. I thought I'd share a few of her works from back in the day...

2 tbl spoons of raw sugar

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk with the cream and rum and bring to a simmer over moderate heat. Gradually pour in cinnamon liqueur and continue to simmer for 3 more minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, add the chocolate and let stand until melted.

What Are You Waiting For?

by Abeni Bamidele

Be the greatest version of yourself. Don't wait. Look not for others to define you, for they will develop a demonized version; a fable of whom they want you to be. Guard your eyes and guard your mind. Let not the media's depictions of you deter you from being your authentic self. Indeed, it is a given that you are feared. Yet you are feared by many simply because they know who you are. Do you know who you are? Do you know that the power is in your hands?

You are a Galactic Being. Strength, Energy, Force, Power, Endurance, Capability, Intelligence...

So what are you waiting for? Be About It.
