5 Foods For Rapid Hair Growth

Let's face it. Many women LOVE long hair; so much so that they will purchase it in a heart beat and attach it to their own heads! In an effort to minimize the need to purchase hair, many women are opting to grow their own long, thick and healthy tresses.

There is no big secret to growing long hair, however I must tell you that it is all about the foods that are placed in the body. Let us start off with water first. Water helps the body to process and flush out toxins faster, which makes it a quick and easy natural method that will make your hair grow a lot faster. When drinking about 8 cups of water a day, not only will your body feel better, but your hair will get stronger. The stronger the hair, the faster that it grows. Drinking water also keeps the hair hydrated from the inside out. Water significantly reduces hair breakage.

But that's not all. Here are 5 foods for and expeditious hair growth experience. Eat them regularly, see results in overall health.

1. AVOCADOS: Due to their high concentration of essential fatty acids naturally found in skin cells (which help to keep your skin smooth and supple), avocados are an age-old beauty secret. When topically applied to the hair and scalp, they have the added ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Mix a little avocado with sour cream (which contains lactic acid to help exfoliate dead skin and clean up buildup on the scalp) and apply to your hair and scalp for about ten minutes before washing it off.

2. ALMONDS: These nuts will make your hair grow faster and thicker due to their high biotin content. One cup contains nearly one-third of your daily requirement. You should be able to see the results in a month or two of adding them to your diet.

3. SALMOND & OTHERS: Fish like salmon, sardines, and mackerel are packed with healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Your body can't make these healthy fats, so you have to get them from food or supplements. They help protect you from disease, but your body also needs them to grow hair and keep it shiny and full.

4. GREEK YOGURT: It’s saturated with protein, the building block of your locks. Greek yogurt also has an ingredient that helps with blood flow to your scalp and hair growth. It’s called vitamin B5 (known as pantothenic acid) and may even help against hair thinning and loss. You just might recognize pantothenic acid as an ingredient on your hair and skincare product labels.

5. SPINACH: Like so many dark green leafy vegetables, spinach is full of amazing nutrients. It has tons of vitamin A, plus iron, beta carotene, folate, and vitamin C. These work together for a healthy scalp and mane. They keep your hair moisturized so it doesn't break. Want to mix it up a little? Kale is another great green choice.

Happy hair growth. Looking good so far!
